Week 1 Update

So one week of the challenge is done and I am feeling stronger. Here is a little update of how I am feeling and the progress I have made in terms of the pull-up.

Diet
In terms of diet I have not been as strict as I could have been, there have been no major slips but lots of wee nibbles can add up. I did a weigh in with Mike and I have stayed the same weight of 143lbs. I am happy that I have maintained but if I can get down to 139lb before the end of the challenge I will be a happy bunny. I think I just need to take a stricter approach and get that determination back.

Pull-Up
Well I know for a fact that I feeling stronger on the pull-up aspect of things. IN terms of training with Mike we are trying to get in as many reps as I can. In week one I did 20 reps in total throughout the session, this week we got 26 in. Big improvement. In terms of using the resistance band we are still on the purple band. Mike says that once I can get to 30 reps then we will bring the band down the lightest one they have, the red band. I cant wait for that as I think I will really know then just how strong I am. I noticed a huge difference the last time we went down a band so this could be make or break. Below is a little video of my progress, please bear in mind that I was so focused that I forgot to ask Mike to take a video until the last set of reps.

Looking back at Week 1
In terms of diet I could have sharpened up a little and this week coming that will be a major focus too. On the pull-up front I am feeling stronger, I know that there is more definition in my arms now. When doing the exercise with Mike there has been no point where I thought I couldn’t do it. I think my confidence is increasing. Now we only have 17 days left to go so that’s a lot to achieve in a short space of time but lets do it.
